HT Cable Description

High Tension (HT) cables are specially designed power cables used for the safe and efficient transmission and distribution of electrical energy at high-voltage levels. These cables are widely used in electrical substations, industrial plants, commercial buildings, power generation facilities, infrastructure projects, and utility networks.

HT cables are generally manufactured using high-quality copper or aluminium conductors, providing excellent electrical conductivity and reliable performance. The conductor is surrounded by insulation, commonly made from XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene), which offers high dielectric strength, excellent thermal stability, and resistance to moisture and environmental conditions. Depending on the application, HT cables may also include metallic screens, fillers, inner sheathing, armour, and an outer protective sheath for enhanced mechanical and electrical protection.

These cables are designed to withstand high operating temperatures and electrical stresses while maintaining consistent performance over a long service life. Armoured HT cables provide additional protection against mechanical damage during installation and operation.

HT cables are available in various voltage ratings, conductor sizes, core configurations, and insulation types to meet different electrical requirements.
